Pause the Game

We have started potty training the twins. They haven't noticed yet.

The other day (0 degrees F) when I was rushing madly between the bathroom, the fireplace, the laundry room, the rag bag, the kitchen, the fireplace, the homeschool table, the bathroom, the laundry room . . . a thought came to me that it was like being on a new level of a video game. I'm not a gamer, but I know there are different levels to earn and each one throws new difficulty at you to juggle. Just when things were minorly leveling, we bumped up to the potty training level. :)

Now, I've heard that video games can be addictive, and some of the addiction signs are dreaming about the game, mullling over the plot line during the day, feeling a personal connection to the game's characters. Well, if those are the criteria, then I guess I'm hooked.

I went to the stairs and called up to the kids, "Lunch time!" I heard Aiden tell the others, "Guys, PAUSE THE GAME!"

oh, baby

It's been nearly a month since this new baby was born. Sorry for the neglect, sweetie. I'm still not sure how I'd like to use this forum; thus, the stalling. Plus, most people just want to see pictures, not read my rants, and our dial up internet won't accomodate uploading or downloading anything!
Events of note have been amazing family times. Isn't that what's so special about this time of year? We had such a fun Thanksgiving with lots of Johnsons, friends and relations that I didn't want it to end. Mom in her gentle way just went ahead and held a family reunion at her house, while I wasted time stressing about finding a good date for it. So we did the annual football game and other traditions and just spent good ol' time together! Plus, Jason & I made a new friend in Kendrick Rozelle.
Then last week we had yet another Johnson "immediate" family dinner with presents and verses and drama and all. Dad & Philip & Andrew have some acting talent I hope they won't waste. That was a special dinner because we said g'bye to Jon & Denielle for their permanent move to Brazil. I would just like to say that I love my family, and I love that we are close without being "co-dependant."
Today, in 10 degree Farenheit weather all 7 of us Trimbles went Christmas Caroling in the neighborhood. It was the kids' idea; they'd been practicing some carols; they had jingle bells. One lady said she's never had anyone carol for her before, and she absolutely would not say "Christmas." She asked if the kids were excited about the holidays coming up. Aiden said, "There's only 9 more days." She said, "Nine more days until the holiday!" We smiled and visited and said "Merry Christmas."

Labor and Delivery

OOOH. That wasn't so bad, I guess, giving birth to our first website.
For now, I'll begin with the title. "Life is so full" is taken from our beloved
Robert Louis Stevenson, whose poetry should be required read-alouds for
all English-speaking children.
As for the purpose/direction of this blog: I've journaled since Kindergarten;
I enjoy doing it. Our family keeps asking us to write a blog. I'm yielding to the
online machine while admitting I can't keep up letter writing. We'll see where it
grows!
